The history of the gaze in its practice has impacted the artwork in terms of how it is touched and framed. This fragmentation began in the 19th century with the aim of capturing the details of a painting through the use of the camera. It consists of isolating an element according to the observer’s choice and highlighting the detail. Today, Emna draws inspiration from this practice to create artwork by emphasizing a specific detail within an artistic work. She stimulates reactions with inks and other mediums, manipulates and creates movements to give birth to an abstract painting. Subsequently, she chooses a detail that symbolizes an emotion or an image. This framing is presented within a round passe-partout, reminiscent of an eye, offering a new form to the artwork. This detail becomes the essence of the artwork itself, perceived differently by each individual. It is the result of the artist’s observation and perception. Her choice is based on the emotion she feels through linear movements, colors, and transparency. Symbolic and sensitive, the artwork invites viewers to embark on a journey and dream.
